rarecoins Selling price on a 1904 $20 Gold Liberty Double Eagle MS61 NGC?
Hello everyone,
I’m trying to sell a few coins for my dad to help with the bills, and I’ve checked a few websites, but I figured I would hand the question over to the Yahoo community.
What kind of price can I sell this coin for?
Where is a good place to sell it?
Here are some pictures of the exact same coin on the front, but without the case I have.

who hear collection foreign coin…either out of currency or in currency and old old coins like tottaly out of currecy….cuz i got 4 silver dollars and there really old and of course im not gonnna sell um its my prized possestion but i wanna know who collectes coins and im curious at how much my collection is worth??
thanks sooooooooo much it helped alot
Their value is going to be dependant on a few things:
1) The date on the coins (I assume you are talking about US coins, otherwise their country of origin is important as well)
If you are talking about some other contries coins, skip #2 as it will have no useful information for foreign coins.
2) The mint(s) which made the coin(s). The date of the coins will help us know where the mint marks are. If the date is between 1878 and 1921, look on the back side of the coin (the side with the eagle) and see if there is a letter under the bow in the wreath.
If the coin was made between 1922 and 1935 look on the back side of the coin (the side with the eagle) and see if there is a small letter under the tail feathers of the eagle.
If the coin was made between 1971 and 1978 look on the front side of the coin (the side with President Eisenhower) and see if there is a small letter above the date.
Possible mint marks:
None – means Philadelphia mint; 1878-present
‘CC’ – Means Carson City; 1878-1893 only
‘O’ – Means New Orleans; 1879-1904 only
‘D’ – Means Denver; 1921-present
‘S’ – Means San Francisco; 1878-present
3) The condiditon the coins are in. This is very important in determining values and pictures are sometimes helpful. Coins can range from looking like they were just made to looking like they have been used alot or been abused (holes, bent, etc.) Their condition will be determine what they are worth, so this is very key.
I would recommed that you check with a local coin dealer to see what they have to say about what they are worth. They will be able to give you the best opinion of what your coins are worth because they will be able to see them in person.

rare coin values Does anyone know about rare coin values?
I have a few coins that i can’t find how much they are worth. Some might not even be worth anyting but here they are. 1899 US dime- buffalo nickel with no date- buffalo nickel with a date i can’t read(1913 or 1813 mabey?)-1942 US dime-1938 Candadian dime. well i have a few other dimes that are like 1952 but i dont think that they are worth anything. So if you know the value of any of these then please do help me out. But don’t be some jerk who just gives me a bunch of lies. So thanx in advance!
Well I won’t lie to you. The coins you have are common and the U.S dimes are 90% silver and the canadian is 80% silver. Unless the dimes are in mint state they are worth the silver value only. A Buffalo (Bison) nickel that one can hardly read the date is mabe worth .25 to someone who will make jewelry out of it. Now that is the way it is. At this time there is about a $1.30 of silver in the U.S. dimes. Dealers pay a percentage less.

Relic Hunting In New Zealand Episode 22 – English Silver
Is the one on tv junk? Help! thanks
It sounds fishy to me too. That is why I am wondering what it is exactly.
These are replicas. They would at best be thinly gold plated. These ads are deceptive because they make it seem like these are real coins from the United States mint. The key word in this ad is “Tribute”. The real $5 gold pieces are worth several hundred dollars.
Please also be careful with Home Shopping Network type stuff as well. Although I don’t doubt the coins they sell are real, HSN usually charges much more for them than they are worth (advertising on TV costs $$). If you really want genuine gold coins, try a local coin dealer. They will usually treat you fairly and charge a more reasonable markup from wholesale prices.

valuable coins How do you clean NON-Valuable coins?
I have some coins, which are NOT valuable, and I would liek to clean them to make them shiny agian. They are pennies and other coins. I’m looking for Home remadies, such as cleaning solutions or home products. THE VALUE of the coins is not an issue, so please no “Don’t clean them, it demishies the value” speechs.
PS Sorry, about poor spelling.
I know cleaning non-valuble coins seems pointless, but I have a collection of dates, and want to keep them shinny for my own personal collection. (Value of coins is not there, but sentimental value is high) I’ve put alot of work into finding certain dates, and want to display clean and shinny.

collectibles directory Aside from search engines…?
..what are some sites that I can advertise my website? I’ve heard that directories aren’t really that helpful. Any comment on this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
http://www.jc-collectibles.com
You advertise because you want traffic. The only traffic that matters is “targeted traffic” – that is traffic that is specifically interested in your product type or service type.
If you focus on that type of prospect you r job of making money is significantly easier, the marketing money and effort you invest will have a huge (ROI) AND last but not least, you can offer the traffic exactly what htye want …
… by contrast if your traffic is diverse, you don’t know what to put in front of them to interest them to read further (& you only have 7 seconds or there abouts, yes just 7 seconds to get them to read further or they’re gone!)
With that background info in mind directories are useless for advertising. The only two exceptions are:
Dmoz.org (free)
Yahoo Directory (paid but worth it if your budget is not extremely restricted. … I think the current price ofr a listing is $299 for a year but please check)
The value of directories is to get “backlinks” to your site and therefore get a higher ranking in the search engines. Some peple think they’re not even worth it for that .. you’ll have to test. Add nyour link to a few free directories (but don’t pay for advertising). Wait a a week maximum and see if the search engines show that directory as a site linking to you. If so, do more directory listings … there are thousands that are free. The more you list your site at, the more backlinks and the higher oyour search engine rankings.
Use a tool such as direcotry submitter to get semi automated listings. Do not use AUTOMATED listings … you want to vary the link text (the text that is clickable to go to your site) every time … if they’re all the same the search engines know you hav eused a mass submission tool and don’t increase your site’s ranking.
OK, advertising … You could use any of:
Yahoo Search Marketing – highly targeted, fast traffic and you can budget
Google Adwords – the same
MSN Adcenter – also not bad but not as good as the above two.
I highly recommend that you read an ebook on any of the above systems or else you advertising costs will be high and your results will be low. There are thousands of people who are making fortunes using the above and they don’t even have their own products or websites!
Finally, create a “diversified traffic strategy” so you are not dependent on one source of traffic. Keep adding new methods/sources to your strategy but only tackle one, improve, perfect and then move on to the next.
Here is a quick list to stat your strategy:
- article writing and submiision to free article directories (known as Article Marketing) … an established and reliable marketing method.
- video marketing using small teaser videos placed on YouTube and many other video sites … a fantsatic new method
Use a video distribution service to save a firtune in time and effort – here’s the best one on the market:
http://TrafficGeyser.com (this is a direct link and not an affiliate link)
- Affiliate Marketing: Other people ie your affiliates, will send you traffic in return for a commission on every sale resulting from their referral … costs you nothing until you make a sale and then only a portion of your profit (that you wouldn’t have had without that affiliate).
You must learn each method before jumping in or else you get nothing out of it and waste your time.

clean coins Can citrus fruits such as a lemon or a orange clean dirty coins, and if so how?
I’m doing a school science project and I need more info. on how a citrus fruit such as a orange, lemon, lime, and a grapefruit can clean dirty coins. I would like to know why, and what is it that works as a cleaning aid.
citiric acid ( hence the name)…its an organic acid ( ie comes from something living) but I think its do with the acid ( its a weak acid) reacting with the oxidised layer on the coin to make them shiny again. The oxidised layer should be METAL ( whatever the metal is in the coin) oxide and a metal oxide+acid –> hmm thinking hmm maybe hydrogen gas and a salt and leaving metal clear.
I am pretty sure that carbonated drinks have carbonic acid ( form the carbon dioxide dissolving in the water) among other things…maybe added citric acid??
