antique key
Can anyone tell me what would be the best way to coat antique key to protect them?
I bought some antique keys to use on a jewelry piece. They are a little worn and rusty but I like the look of it and want to protect them as they are. As they are beingused in jewelry I don’t want to have clothing get stained from the rust on them. I thought a lacquer or polyurethane might do the trick. Any advice?? thanks
I prefer a coat of beeswax for protection. It is natural and safe and easily reapplied in a matter of minutes. Lacquer and poly will often peel and make things look worse over time. Beeswax when it gets older doesn’t.
